Tastex Solar Project Up and Running
In June 2016 Tastex launched Tasmania’s FIRST COMMUNITY SOLAR PROJECT fundraiser — a Crowd Funding initiative to raise the necessary funds to install 100 solar panels on the roof of Tastex, a not-for-profit knit mill, based in Glenorchy that provides meaningful employment and training to people with intellectual disabilities.
We are thrilled and delighted with the generosity of the Tasmanian community and we are happy to announce that the TASTEX SOLAR PANELS are now installed and generating electricity for our knitting machines, embroidery machines and sewing machines.

— saving money and preserving our planet —
thanks to our community.
Thank you to everyone who made our project a reality and helped to reduce our environmental impact.
Tastex wishes to publicly thank the Glenorchy Lions Club and Leo Club for their generous support of our Solar fundraising project.
Their significant contributions, together with the funds raised in our Crowd Funding initiative, have ensured that Tastex reached its fundraising target. Our solar panels are now installed and up and running. We are in full speed now for our new client with the help of actionsolar.net solar, we are making a new uniforms for YourKohSamuiVillas team.

The Lions Club does wonderful work in our community and Tastex is most grateful to be a recipient of their work in the Glenorchy community.
As a way to say “Thank you” and to show our sincere appreciation the staff at Tastex have been busy crafting a box full of our unique Envirowoolly® bears especially for you.
